You should consult your physician before using any TENS or EMS devices for your appropriate settings. Also, make sure you click the tab named detailed tech specs for further descriptions of modes and other advanced features.

We also recommend browsing all pads and electrodes to ensure you have an ample supply in case your current electrodes are no longer valid for use or you prefer a different size. The electrodes included for this machine are sized by 1.5" by 1.5". It’s common for a single electrode to go through 5 to 6 uses before it needs to be replaced.

3rd edition is a good one!

Great unit. Could use more instructions on the 16 options. Also I wish I had realized there are wireless units. These are fantastic!

    So far- excellent

I have only used the tens function at this point. But my plan is to incorporate other functions with my physical therapy later on. I have used this tens unit for both low back pain and endometriosis pain. This is a life saver for both, but especially for endo pain. Literally. Endo pain is one of the worst pains to experience…not to minimize other types of pain but endo pain makes you want to cut a finger off just to feel something different. This machine is powerful with just the battery use for the tens function. I have not yet played with the other functions. So far, it works better than other units I have used.

    TWIN STEM PLUS

I have had this unit or the 2nt model for over a year. it has a long learning curve but offers a larger area coverage . The only problem is that it overheats and badly. the up side is that it uses inexpensive batteries that last a long time. I use several sets of rechargeable AA that can be purchased as a 4 battery's with charging station. the one I got had the higher Ma-hour rating . they charge up well before this unit must have fresh ones. I bought an extra set and can switch them easily when needed because the unit has an easily accessed cover to install the batteries. the only change I would make to this would be a tab that pulls the batteries out. As we get older the fingers refuse to follow orders. so far no failures because of the heat. I dont need the unit when the weather is mild so I cant tell if the ambient heat would be a problem. I hope this helps.---- I, Grampa

    EMS Stim

I am a physician who has had revision hip surgery and am on strict range of motion and weight bearing limitations. I was looking for a unit that would be capable of performing evidence based stimulation (J Cachexia Sarcopenia Muscle. 2018 Aug; 9(4): 631–634.) for muscle growth and prevention of atrophy.

There are a few units that meet this criteria, BUT they either are very expensive OR they only have 2 wire outputs. This unit allows for 4 wire connections, meaning 8 skin contact electrodes, so more large muscle groups can be stimulated at once. Works great, and GETS THE JOB DONE MUCH BETTER THAN A 2 CHANNEL UNIT.

    A few tips:

    1. The stimulation level can go much higher if the unit is plugged in (important for large muscle groups)

    2. To get the right stimulation level for "synchronous" (on/off) can be a bit frustrating. Start with the unit on continuous and increase 1 channel until the muscle is in full contraction. Back if off slightly then go to the next channel. Do this until they are all just below the max you want then switch to the program S. Bring them up again 1 by 1. After doing this once or twice, you'll know where each muscle group is going to be and don't be surprised that there's a big difference in different muscle groups. Thickness of skin/fat/etc can greatly affect the amount of stimulation getting to the muscle.

    3. For my purposes, the 2nd edition of this unit would have been just as good but $30 less. It looks exactly the same but no Russion…
